🌍 Global Market Update
Markets rallied this week as the U.S. and China agreed to pause new tariffs and ease export restrictions for 90 days — a truce that lifted global stocks. Still, with U.S. tariffs near 20%, long-term uncertainty remains.
Boosting sentiment further, U.S. inflation data for April came in softer than expected. Headline CPI rose just 0.2% for the month, with annual inflation at 2.3%, both below forecasts. Core inflation matched estimates at 2.8% year-over-year but was also cooler month-over-month.
The milder inflation strengthens the case for possible rate cuts and fresh liquidity. While Fed Chair Powell remains cautious, this data could prompt a shift in tone.
💹 Crypto Market Highlights
It’s been a strong week for crypto, and Ethereum is leading the charge. ETH soared nearly 40%, reclaiming the $2,500 level after the Pectra upgrade and a wave of macro tailwinds — its best performance in years.
